(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ June Playtime (๑˃ᴗ˂)و

I'm not sure about any of the other OG pokemon trainers out there, but my favorite game was always Crystal. I like to say that it became my favorite because it was the first time that I got to pick a female character in Pokemon, and somehow that made me feel so immersed inside the game! That being said; I will always be a little bit salty that when they made the remakes they changed my girl from a bluenette to a normal brown and changed out her entire fit! I suppose I get it, pokemon has really become family friendly over the years!

Recently, I've been playing FireRed on the Switch 2 and I noticed that any NPC labeled "Gambler" back in the day is now a "Gamer"; which seems pretty inside since the sprites are almost exactly the same and the grandpa's look like they haven't picked up a controller in their entire life! That being said, I've very much enjoyed the run. I decided early on that I wanted to use pokemon that as a kid I never would have picked because there were so many "cooler" options. Namely, Butterfree and Primeape. Surprisingly, Butterfree has been the MVP of the run! Not only does she know a ton of psychic type moves and half the game is filled with poison types, but her being a flying type means that ground type attacks do literally nothing. As for Primeape, he's just really fun to use, I think this is partially because I've never really used a fighting type pokemon before as a main member of the team; now I feel like I should really think about expanding my type choices from here on out!

This all to say, I still picked the same starter that I've picked since I got Red version for Christmas back in 1998, Charmander. I know...it's sooooooo basic! But it never feels right unless I have a fire type starter! I guess I just have to accept that Nintendo's favorite son has always been mine as well!
